Susie will probably see the moment the realization hits her; her eyes widen just a touch and Wave blushes, even as she gives a sheepish laugh. It had honestly become such an ingrained part of their relationship that she hadn't even considered how it might sound to say it to someone else!]
Well, he can manipulate air. So he'd jump, but he could stop the fall before we landed. Then he'd just... step off the little ledge he'd made and back onto solid ground. As long as he wasn't being a complete idiot jumping off clock towers, it didn't hurt him at all.
[Her expression goes a little bit harder at the mention of jumping off a clock tower, but there's no anger in her voice. Idiots do dumb things!!!!]

Only a few weeks, but it's been... a lot. Rhodes Island iiiis a pharmaceutical company primarily, but it's also a multinational humanitarian non-government organization. As such, it's primary patients reside on the base, but can also act as first responders in emergencies, or... um. Dealing with other things.

Rhodes Island's primarily goal is to find a cure for Oripathy... it's just that those with Oripathy are often in very dangerous situations, and often in need of rescue. Nevermind the political aspects...

One of the primary doctors' daughter is a pyromaniac.
[She listens, and though some of it goes over her head (pharmaceutical company? Multinational humanitarian non-government organization? She knows what those words mean individually, but together...? No idea), she thinks she's gotten the overall gist of the situation.

"Patients"? So are you and all your coworkers...? [It's worth noting that even though she's asking this question, Wave isn't making any moves to put distance between them. The only real change to her expression is a small line between her eyebrows that appears as she casts a quick look over Susie. Is she sick in some way...?

Not... everyone. Since it's not actively contagious- the disease comes from a mineral that's native to Terra, and doesn't spread through person to person easily for the most part.
( she... it's the coward's way out, but she'll let wave draw her own conclusions here. )
... But Rhodes Island is one of the few places an infected person can live safely and actually earn a decent living, while also getting affordable treatment.
[It doesn't really matter if Susie does or doesn't have it, not to her. Something about the way the separation between worlds works--even if it did spread via person-to-person contact, it's odd how things do or don't work among a group of people such as this.]
People shouldn't have to work for a company to earn treatment for a condition. It's good that they have options, but...

No, it's alright. I agree, honestly, but... the medicine and other procedures, depending on how Oripathy has damaged the body, are all horribly expensive. Equipment, board and food, too... O-oh, but even then, almost all of the operators' work is voluntary, though- everyone has their reasons.

Does anybody use magic in Terra? It sounds like a good healer could do a lot to help.
But you're right. Something like that needs a lot of people that are in it to help people, not just for themselves. It must be really hard on everyone there.
... We have Originium Arts, but none capable of healing Oripathy- in fact, Oripathy makes one's Arts stronger. And it's not that everyone at Rhodes Island is just in it for themselves- they all have their own reasons to fight, is what I meant. Everyone there is there to help, still.
